Hi guys,

As you know by now, I am a beauty blogger and I have a thing for changing my skincare products every so often so I thought I would give you a little update as to what I have been using.

AM: I normally use the Alpha H Balancing Cleanser (£25) or L’Oréal Purifying Gel Wash (£4.49) in the morning as they are very gentle on my skin.
PM: I use my RMS Coconut Cream (£13) or my Emma Hardie Moringa Cleansing Balm (£38) as my first cleanse to remove my makeup. All I do is scoop out a little bit from the pot, rub it all over my dry face and then remove with a warm face cloth. After this I use the Elizabeth Arden Skin Balancing Exfoliating Cleanser (£18) or Good Things Blackhead Cleanser  to remove the last traces of makeup and to scrub my face.

After the cleansing step, both in the morning and the evening, I use an exfoliating toner which has been the Pixi Glow Tonic (£18) for the past couple of weeks. I soak a cotton pad with this and wipe all over my face and neck. I love this toner, it smells great, my skin doesn’t feel irritated and it does exactly what it says on the tin.

AM: I use the Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Glow Boost Skin Serum (£12.99) to add some radiance to my skin.
PM: I go between the Eucerin Dermo Purifier Active Concentrate (£9.50) and the L’Oréal Skin Perfection Advanced Correcting Serum (£16.99) as it depends on how my skin is acting that day before I choose which one.

AM: I have been loving the Garnier Skin Naturals Soft Essentials 24hr Nourishing Day Cream (£4.19) which is enriched with rose water and specifically made for dry and sensitive skin. It’s not the greatest but I will use it until it runs out and then buy my normal origins moisturiser which works wonders.
PM: I love Nivea Crème (£1.39) as it is the best in my opinion but when I noticed the Nivea Visage Oxygen Power Reviving Night Cream on the stand in Boots I decided to try it out. I have not been disappointed. It’s delicious.

I use my Alpha H Liquid Gold (£33.50) 3 - 4 times a week in the evening and don't put on any moisturisers as I want this to do its magic without any interruption. I soak a cotton pad with this and wipe all over my face and neck and leave overnight. I also use an exfoliator once a week as I like a deep clean and my JustBe Gentle Exfoliator (£18.50) works a treat.

I have two masks in rotation at the moment which will come as no surprise to anyone but they are the Sanctuary Spa 5 Minute Thermal Detox Mask (£10) or my Good Things Manuka Honey Mask (£5.99). I normally use these twice a week but if my skin needs a little pick me up during these days, I will whack on another coat.

If you would like to see individual reviews on any of these products leave a comment below and I will give an in depth review.

A Delicious Chana Masala Recipe

Quick Vegan Chana Masala
Hi guys,

I recently went on the hunt for a nice Chana Masala recipe for Liam and I as we were in the mood for a nice meat free spicy dish but as I scoured through the numerous recipes online I felt they were pretty much all the same until I stumbled upon Cookie and Kate's blog. I did change her recipe to include more onions and chillies as I bloody love them and I also added in chicken stock which is obviously non vegan. This can be substituted for vegan stock cubes. The end result was something incredibly delicious, I made enough for 4 people but us being us, we ended up eating it all in one night! If you want to check out the Cookie and Kate's version then head over to her blog by clicking "source" underneath the picture above.

·         1 tbsp. of olive/sunflower/coconut/vegetable oil
·         1½ tsp cumin
·         2 onions, chopped
·         4 cloves of fresh garlic, chopped
·         1 inch of fresh ginger
·         4 dried chillies, left whole
·         2 tsp garam masala
·         2 tsp ground coriander
·         1 tsp turmeric
·         1 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)
·         1 x can of chopped tomatoes with their juices
·         2 tbsps. of tomato puree
·         2 x chicken stock cubes dissolved in boiled water (according to packet instructions) I used the Knorr stock pots as I feel they give more flavour and some water.
·         2 x can of chickpeas drained and rinsed
·         Basmati rice, for serving
·         Lemon wedges, for garnishing
·         Fresh coriander, chopped, for garnishing (optional)

1. Add the oil to a large pan and heat on a medium heat.
2. Add chopped onions and fry until brown (normally takes about 10 minutes)
3. Add ginger and garlic and fry off for a further 2-3 minutes before adding all of the ground spices.
4. Add the chicken stock, tomato puree and tin of tomatoes, turn heat to a low setting and simmer for 10 minutes.
5. Add in your whole dried chillies and season. Turn up to a medium heat and leave for an hour.
6. After an hour, taste the dish to make sure it is spicy enough, seasoned enough and to your tasting. Add the drained chickpeas and cook out for a further 20 minutes so the sauce gets nice and thick.
7. Boil your rice according to the pack instructions and serve.
8. Scatter fresh coriander and lemon wedges and enjoy!!

If you wanted to bulk this up a little more then add in butternut squash and spinach as this will add even more goodness to the dish.

If you try it, let me know if you like it.

JustBe | Radiant Gentle Exfoliator and Clear Blemish Control

JustBe Botanicals

JustBe Radiant Gentle Exfoliator

JustBe Clear Blemish Control

Clear Blemish Control

Hi guys,

I hadn't heard of this brand until I seen a blog post by Caroline Hirons and instantly I needed in on the action. Caroline reviewed the JustBe Cleansed Cleansing Balm but I have enough of these and really wanted to try a great exfoliator so I bought the JustBe Radiant Gentle Exfoliator (£18.50 for 100ml) and the Blemish Control Gel (£9.50).

 About the Company
JustBe is a natural range for the face, body and home. They smell incredible and are filled with therapeutic benefits. All products are handmade in Scotland by Aromatherapist Gail Bryden using purely natural ingredients.  The company’s core values are authenticity, passion and purity.

After I ordered online I received an email from Gail over at JustBe who advised she didn't have the correct container for the exfoliator and would I mind if she decanted into a tub along with a spatula, obviously I didn't I just wanted to try these delicious products. I do love when company's email you to let you know of any problems rather than send something they know might be a problem.

My parcel arrived very quickly, I think it took 2 days or something like that. The packaging was absolutely beautiful. I loved the dark pink bow across the box which added a little character. The products themselves were beautiful too, they carried the same colour scheme and looked very fresh and clean.

Just Be Radiant Gentle Exfoliator
Ingredients: Coconut Oil, Coconut Solid, Jojoba Oil, Coco Glucoside, Beeswax, Vitamin E, Jojoba Beads, Pink Grapefruit Oil and Mandarin Oil.

Apply and massage all over your face, clean off with a face cloth or muslin cloth.
Dry Skin – Use 2 to 3 times per week
Oily Skin - Use every 7 to 10 days.

My Thoughts
Upon opening, I thought my life had ended and I was being raised up into Heaven! Well, maybe that’s a bit of an exaggeration haha but the reason for this is the smell. It smells so luxurious and literally makes me want it in every bath product you could imagine.

Its pretty simple to use, just scoop out a little using the spatula provided and then work into your skin. It actually feels like a cleansing balm as its thick and I have to say, its refreshing to have an exfoliator that doesn’t feel harsh on the skin. The beads in this product are quite large compared to other exofliators I have tried in the past.
I liked how my skin looked and felt after using this balm like product as it looked glowing and felt instantly smoother. I usually have red skin after washing my face, especially with harsher products but I have to say, it looked calm and sooth.

Clear Blemish Control
Ingredients: Orange Blossom Floral Water, Witch Hazel, Spearmint Oil and Tea Tree Oil.

Apply as often as you wish to the infected areas.

My Thoughts
Again, the scent with this is just beautiful, I found myself using it every couple of hours just so I could have a sniff ha! I did get a little spot or two on my chin just before this arrived so I wanted to try it out straight away. I liked how easy this was to use as its just a little roller. If you are a bit of a hygiene buff then you could use a cotton bud to get some of the product out and put on spots that way.

It did take a couple of days for the blemishes to start disappearing but the instant cooling sensation it gave was incredible. The only thing that put me off was the fact that it gave me white heads round about my blemish area, this is obviously due this the high oil content in the treatment. I haven't ever found a blemish control treatment that actually works but this did relax the infected area and my spots began to fade after a few days.
Top to Bottom: My blemishes when they came to a head and my skin after 4 days of using this blemish gel.

Final Thoughts:
Great products. As you can see from the before and after pictures above, the gel actually works. I have loved using these products and will be repurchasing the exfoliator as soon as it runs out but I dont think I will buy the gel again as I didnt like the trapped oil problem.

The Weeks Most Loved | Post #7

MAC Makeup

Makeup Rumours

Arran Aromatics

Hi guys,

Its time again for another weekly loves post, I hope you’re excited!!! There are quite a few beauty items as I have been loving these the most this week, I’m just gonna dive straight in.

1. Maybelline Falsies Mascara (£7.99) - I have raved about it here so I won’t ramble on too much. If I want fuller looking lashes that give the effect of wearing falsies without the hassle then I always reach for this.

2. Makeup Rumours Face Powder in Nude - This is just amazing. I have been wearing this nonstop and have to say it’s done the trick this week. No cakiness here folks.

3. Mac Mineralize Skinfinish in Soft & Gentle (£24) - I love this highlighter, it just gives a beautiful golden glow to my cheekbones without going over the top.

4. Arran Aromatics Eydis Shower Gel (£12) – I love AA products as they smell fantastic and this is no different. It has a very clean scent which leaves my skin feeling refreshed. Perfect for the mornings and it doesn’t lather up a lot which I quite like.

5. Arran Aromatics Fresh Fig Shea Butter Cream (£14.50) - This is too damn good! The smell is phenomenal. It has Shea Butter, Chamomile, Fig, Honey, Ylang Ylang and Cedarwood so you can only imagine how heavenly this smells & feels. I have been using this as my night time moisturiser and have actually woke myself up a few times wondering what smelt so good! Little did I know it was me ha-ha.

5. Beautiful Darkness (from 1p) - I loved the Beautiful Creatures so much that I had to buy the second book in the series. I got straight into this and have to say it was worth the read. I actually read this over the course of last week whilst lying in my bath with lots of bubbles and a large glass of wine. 100% Recommend to anyone who loves a bit of supernatural with some romance thrown in.

What have you been loving this week guys?
Do you have any suggestions for me to try out?

A Rather Large Haul | Cult Beauty, Lush and Boots

Cult Beauty

Hi guys,

I have a real stationary love so I get super excited when it’s time to head back to college and I get to pick up some cute notebooks, new pens and bags. I think my other half has seen through my "I need to buy college supplies" talk as he now knows it’s just an excuse to go shopping.

The first thing I bought were my notebooks and stationery which I got from Amazon as they had really nice designs rather than the bog standard black ones, I like a bit of colour in my college life and these fit the bill perfectly. I was then inspired by my wish list to go on a hunt for some beauty goodies which I will share below.

Cult Beauty:
I only bought one thing from Cult which was a major achievement for me as I originally had 6 products in my basket! Do you ever do that, add loads and loads of products but look at the total and think, Nah! And delete them all ha-ha. Well I did and I settled on this Alpha H Duo (£34.50) as it was something I wanted for such a long time. I can’t wait to try them out!!

I first heard about JustBe from Caroline Hirons when she reviewed their Cleansed Cleansing Balm (£30). I already have enough cleansing balms to last me a lifetime so I decided to try out the Gentle Exfoliator (£18.50) and Blemish Control Roll (£9.50) on instead. I was super excited to find out this was a Scottish brand and the owner had already won awards for her great products. I also received an email from Gail at JustBe to inform me that they never had the correct exfoliator tub and asked if it was ok to send it in the little one pictured below, I love when company's keep on top of their orders and let customers know of any changes, kudos to JustBe.

Aren’t these just so cute!!! I like bright notebooks so when I seen these for £2 on Amazon I jumped at the chance. I also needed some new pens, highlighters and the normal college/school things like tippex, sharpeners etc. and as Amazon offer a wide range I managed to get everything I needed there. I am really happy with my new collections and can’t wait to start my 2nd year at college now.

I was a bit naughty and bought some make up goodies. As these were recommendations from fellow bloggers & some of my lovely readers I had to buy them. I bought a lot from Makeup Revolution which included a Lipstick (£1) in Lady and Lipgloss (£1) in Hot, I also bought the Vivid Lacquer Blusher (£3) in Desire, a Volumising Ultra Black Mascara (£2) and the Redemption Palette Hot Smoked (£4) which I am dying to use, I mean just look at those colours! I also bought the new Rimmel Argan Oil Mascara (£7.99) which I have lusted after for a wee while :)

The Body Shop:
I just love The Body Shop so when I seen the new Argan Oil range I knew I had to buy a few bits. As I have too many body butters I decided on the Argan Oil Bubble Bath (£8). I also needed a new hand cream as my Elizabeth Arden and Soap & Glory ones ran out so I bought this Moringa (£4) one to see how it fares to others.

Good old Lush! I was very good this time and only bought 2 bath bombs as my bathroom is full of bath products. I bought Granny Takes A Dip (£3.65) and Dragons Egg (£3.75) which smell fantastic!
