My Mascara Collection

Mascara

Hi guys,

I am a mascara whore, the more the better in my opinion. I love my lashes to look long, full, black and sometimes spider like. These mascaras do different things and the only thing they have in common is me I fecking love em!

1. YSL Babydoll Mascara (£24) I love this mascara. I don’t usually like YSL mascaras as I find them to be overpriced muck but this one is stunning. I have been wearing this every day. It’s not really a dramatic mascara but I love the length it gives. There is no clumping with this bad boy but sometimes I find it transfers onto my skin.

2. Maybelline Falsies (£8) This is an oldie but a goodie. I used to buy this all the time and then got side tracked with others but I decided to pick it up again and it’s just as good as I remember. For an everyday look I normally use this as a first coat on my lashes before using babydoll. I love the false lash effect it gives and even though I use Babydoll over it to give more length, this is perfect on its own.

3. L’OrĂ©al Voluminous Carbon Black (£8.49) This does what it says on the tin. It adds a dark rich black colour to my lashes and also adds volume. I find that it dries out quite quickly, quicker than the recommended 3 months.

4. Benefit They're Real (£19.50) This is a cult favourite and I honestly don’t know why. The wand on this mascara is great at grabbing even the smallest lashes and separating them but I find the actual formula transfers to my skin only a few hours of wear. It’s the worst in my collection for it. I find that I need a few coats before I get the desired effect and even then, I apply some falsies over the top to give more volume.

5. Rimmel Lash Accelerator (£7.49) This is a great mascara. I always use this as a bottom lash mascara as the wand is perfect at grabbing each lash and separating them out without making it too 60s if you know what I mean. It doesn’t clump and it doesn’t transfer either.

That’s all the mascaras I own and some are better than others. What are your favourites?

  1. The Falsies is my favourite mascara, it really curls my lashes and makes them so much longer. I love it. I really want to try a high end mascara but there is so many great high street ones which are much more in my price range!

  2. I love Falsies and always go back to it if I have had a traumatic mascara experience (it does happen!)
I really want to try Babydoll (or maybe hypnose) but I think for the time being I'll have to stick to high street brands if I ever want to be able to afford my rent next year!
